Crete is a fairly small island, but leave it to Josh to find the really big mountains. We decided that it would be worth the drive that took us from sea level to about 3,000 feet over a very short distance (see video, not made by me) and I would like to mention that there was a severe lack of guard rails. Anyway, on our way up the mountain road, to the entrance of the Samaria Gorge, we came upon some goats laying on the cool road in the shade. These goats were so comfortable that I nearly walked all the way up to them before they decided that they should get up and move.
