Day 57 The Lion

One day we decided to go on a boat tour on the Bosphorus River.  Long story short, after paying for the tour and being picked up for the tour we never stepped foot on a boat.  We did, however, get a driving tour and the only stop that we made was at the Beylerbeyi Palace.  (We had a chat with the tour company owner and got most of our money back.)

The Beylerbeyi Palace is set on the Asian side of Turkey and was built right on the river in the 1800’s.  It was an amazingly beautiful palace with intricately hand carved and inlayed wood detail and marble columns, floors, and walls.  In the large gathering room there was a hand-made Turkish rug that was bigger than our house.  On either side of the front door and either side of the back door were two large marble lions, four in all, and each lion was posed differently. This lion was my favorite because it was sat there so regal but still it still has an expression that says don’t mess with me.

Adjustments: contrast, hue, saturation, vignette

Until next time, good night.
