Today is May Day. May Day is the celebration of Spring. In Oxford May Day starts at sunrise with the Magdalen choir signing from the top of the Magdalen College tower. Thousands of people gathered in the streets at 6am to listen to the music wash over the morning. The songs are the start gun to the day’s festivities of singing, dancing, and general merriment. 🙂 We had breakfast, walked around the city, went to the store and somehow still made it home by 9:30am.
I just want to mention (because it bugs the heck out of me) that this picture is not crooked…Oxford is crooked. The buildings are hundreds and hundreds of years old and the streets are sloped. Besides, if you look at the building on the right of the picture it is perfectly straight…I checked, twice.
Adjustments: contrast, hue, vignette
Until next time, good night.
