Day 105 The Rose’s Revolt

Let’s talk about contrast.  Here you have trash and brick and nothing natural, except for one pink rose, growing despite its surroundings.  My goal was to highlight the contrast by desaturating the unnatural surrounds and highlighting the color of the rose.  I had gone all the way to black and white, but the contrast was too drastic.  Oddly enough, this unnatural vs. natural contrast also has similarities like the elegance of the rose and the bow in the metal strapping.

Adjustments: hue, contrast, saturation, vignette

Until next time, good night.

  1. A beautiful urban image – love to see the flower thriving in this gritty spot. Well seen and photographed. Cheers, Chris
