Nothing says Oxford like the bearded ones. They surround the Sheldonian Theatre on Broad Street. The Sheldonian was built in 1668 and was originally used as a the graduation hall. Last winter I was lucky enough to be taken on a date to see a violinist preform in the Sheldonian. Despite the solid wood benches, I was in awe of both the performance, as well as, the beautiful decor of the building. Unfortunately, this is all the information that I can find and it wasn’t even about these stone men. Better luck next time?
