Day 126 Ferry Cottage Painting

I took this picture on a bright sunshiny day.  The flowers are blooming and the small breeze carried the scent of fresh cut lawn, flowers, and food from a near by pub.  When I put this picture onto the computer it was less interesting than it was at the moment that I took it.  I thought that it would be a good opportunity to try the painting technique in photoshop.

The cottage is located in a small village in North Hinksey, which has been seen on maps dating back to 1610.  The area was also called Ferry Hinksey up until the 1920’s when the ferry stopped running. Ferry Cottage is thought to be built before the 1920’s and has kept the name reflecting the village name.

Adjustments: Contrast, hue, saturation, water color, texturize

Until next time, good night.

  1. When we look at the photo on the screen we have only out eyes, your words help to make up for the other senses too, thanks.
I love the painting technique you’ve used 🙂
