Day 139 Priory Road

This summer I was lucky enough to visit my God-mother.  She lives in a little village called Great Massingham in Norfolk.  Great Massingham is so small that if you look on a map you have to look for King’s Lynn first and then drive east 5 miles.  It is a charming little town and we love to go visit for a few days. When we got there we decided to go to another very small village called Castle Acre.  It is about 5 miles south of Great Massingham.  While we were in Castle Acre we decided to take a walk around The Priory.  Castle Acre was founded in 1089 and the Priory was built sometime around 1146. The Priory was used for nearly 400 years.  It was finally closed in 1537.

Until next time, good night.
